Launched in 2019, Lochranza Castle is the second limited edition in Arran’s Explorer Series, a tribute to the stunning natural diversity of the Isle of Arran. This Arran 21 Year Old Lochranza Castle single malt is matured in ex-sherry hogsheads and finished in Amontillado sherry casks, carefully sourced from Bodegas Tradicion in Jerez De La Frontera, Spain. Only 9,000 bottles of this exceptional whisky were produced, bottled at 47.2%. The castle itself, once a medieval hall-house, stands as a proud symbol of Arran’s rich history.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Rich and layered with caramelized almonds, crystallized ginger, and chocolate-covered apricots, balanced with brown sugar sweetness and dunnage warehouse aromas.
• Palate: Bright and full-bodied, offering honeycomb, salted caramel, and herbaceous accents. Orchard fruits shine through, reflecting Arran’s signature style.
• Finish: Enigmatic and refined, featuring Assam tea, subtle cigar smoke, and a resurgence of freshness to complete the experience.
